It’s time to listen to your Body Clock.

Ever wondered why waking up is so hard some days, even when you've slept a lot, but easy on others, even with less sleep? That’s because our body doesn't tick to the same time as our watch; it has its own clock... and it's trying to tell us something.

In today’s fast-paced world, where you can travel anywhere and do anything, the boundaries between night and day are increasingly blurred. Yet we still use clocks synchronized to the rise and fall of the sun to decide when to do things. Could there be something better?

Perhaps inspired by the same question, in 1729 the astronomer Jean-Jacques de Mairan conducted an experiment. Fascinated with the movements of the Mimosa pudica plant, with leaves that open during the day and close at night, he wondered what would happen if he removed their clock, the sun.

After placing the plants in total darkness over multiple days, he still observed the same rhythmic opening and closing. This moment marked the birth of a new field of science: circadian science. Jean concluded that the plant's rhythm was not just dictated by the sun but rather by something deeper, something inherent in the plant itself. We now know that almost all biological processes, from sleep to metabolism, are directed by this circadian rhythm or Body Time.

Our Body Time controls everything, from when we are most alert to when we best recover from exercise, and even when we are most creative.
